K-13 Spray Applied Insulation
K-13 is a spray-applied insulation product tailored to your specific project requirements for insulation (R- value), noise reduction (NRC), color, durability, condensation control, texture, and aesthetics. K-13 can be applied to virtually any substrate including wood, steel, concrete, glass and other common surfaces. K-13 can be sprayed up to five inches thick overhead in one application without mechanical support. Additionally, K-13 serves as the exposed finish requiring no additional treatment or materials.
The K-13 System
K-13 is a total system of high quality recycled natural cellulose fibers, chemically treated to provide a Class I fire rating and prevent mold growth, then blended with a multi-component adhesive system. The adhesive is designed to react chemically when blended with the fibers at the nozzle. The K-13 system is installed by Retrotherm with “Top Gun” trained application teams that are well versed in all types of construction challenges. The finished product is a strong, durable monolithic coating of a predetermined thickness. Some surfaces will require priming prior to installation. K-13 is available in 6 standard colors. Custom colors are an option to enhance design.
Accoustical Performance
The K-13 system absorbs sound like no other product on the market. K-13 dramatically reduces reverberation times, which in turn reduces overall noise levels, making speech and music more intelligible and the facility more comfortable. Machinery and equipment noise is also controlled, often times reducing noise levels to within OSHA limits. Retrotherm is commonly called upon to apply K-13 to reduce noise levels within industrial plants, auditoriums, sports arenas, detention facilities, recording studios, and parking facilities.
